During the recording of video, you usually record, using the video camera longer scenes than will be used in the final clip. Then you must distinguish two key concepts:
Take: All material recorded by the camera, from the moment the REC button is pressed to initiate the record until the moment you stop. A take can be good or not and you should make some of them.
Shot: Part of the recorded and selected take which has been included in the final clip.
Therefore, the montage or edition process consists of selecting the good takes, crop and remove the wrong part of those good takes and ordering the final shots to count the story in the best way possible
